5-Amino-1MQ is a small-molecule inhibitor of nicotinamide N-methyltransferase (NNMT), an enzyme up-regulated in adipose tissue that consumes NAD+ precursors. Inhibiting NNMT raises intracellular NAD+ and reduces adipocyte lipid accumulation in animal models (Neelakantan et al., Biochem Pharmacol 2018).

Selected for fat-mass and metabolic protocols as a complement to NAD+ strategies.
